Valentino will work with Gap to create a women's collection

August 26, 2025

This winter, Valentino is set to collaborate with Gap on a limited, affordable women's collection designed by the brand's creative directors, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli. The partnership marks a new chapter for both brands as they aim to blend high fashion with accessible style. The collaboration will be unveiled in late November, coinciding with the opening of Gap's Milan flagship store. This move follows in the footsteps of other luxury brands partnering with mass-market retailers, such as Lanvin's recent collaboration with H&M. The collection will feature the iconic Valentino logo, combined with the clean, minimalist aesthetic that Gap is known for. Chiuri and Piccioli expressed their excitement about the project, stating, “It’s a pleasure for Gap to work with us on this initiative, merging the essence of Valentino with Gap’s casual, everyday fashion. In doing so, we’re responding to a growing trend that unites luxury with the basics.” While H&M has long been recognized for its collaborations with high-end designers, Gap has also dabbled in similar ventures before. In 2009, the brand partnered with Pierre Hardy for a small capsule collection, and previously worked with Stella McCartney on a children's wear line. Stephen Sunnucks, President of Gap Europe, added, “We are thrilled to partner with Valentino. They hold a unique position in the Italian fashion scene, and Maria Grazia and Pier Paolo bring a fresh, modern approach to women’s fashion.” This collaboration not only highlights the evolving relationship between luxury and streetwear but also signals a shift in how fashion houses are reaching broader audiences through more affordable, yet stylish, collections. With this partnership, both Valentino and Gap are stepping into a new era of accessible luxury.
