Henan footwear exports increased by 64.37% year-on-year

In recent years, the transfer of some light industrial goods manufacturing industries has shifted from the coastal areas to the middle and western provinces, and their follow-up effects are gradually emerging. The reporter learned from the Henan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau that from January to June this year, Henan Province exported 1,624 batches of various footwear products with a value of 57.11 million US dollars, an increase of 64.37% and 57.15% respectively year-on-year.

According to the analysis of relevant persons of the Henan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the main reason for the rapid growth of the footwear industry in the province is that the footwear manufacturing enterprises have accelerated the transfer to the central and western regions.

In recent years, Henan has abundant labor resources, low human resources costs and many other outstanding advantages, which have attracted many shoe manufacturers to shift from the coastal areas to Henan. Up to now, the number of Taiwan-funded footwear companies that have moved to Henan has reached 9. These Taiwan-funded enterprises exported 981 batches of footwear products in the first half of this year, accounting for half of the province’s footwear exports.

At present, exports of footwear manufactured in Henan to more than 60 countries or regions have become the fastest growing and most exported products for light industry consumer goods in Henan Province.
