"Cashmere" national standards completed validation

November 06, 2018

The National Standard of “Cashmere” revised and revised by the China Fiber Inspection Bureau has been finalized and verified. The revised standard will have an important impact on China’s cashmere industry and international cashmere trade.

According to reports, cashmere is a scarce resource worldwide, and it is the only fiber in textile fibers that uses "grams" as a unit of measure, commonly known as "soft gold." The output and quality of cashmere in China ranks first in the world, and cashmere is also the only fiber product in China that affects the world market. China's Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Xinjiang, Tibet, Henan, Shaanxi, Shandong, Shanxi, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, Ningxia, and Jilin all produce cashmere. The production areas with output close to or exceeding 1,000 tons are Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, and Xinjiang respectively. Tibet.

In the past 10 years since the original standard was implemented, China has continued to maintain its advantages in the breeding, improvement, breeding of cashmere goats, and cashmere fleece, sorting, trading, processing of raw materials and production of cashmere products, and has established a complete cashmere industry system. At the same time, China's state-level inspection agencies, more advanced laboratories, and large-scale cashmere processing companies basically have the strength to adopt advanced test methods. The revision of the "Cashmere" standard will be of great significance for protecting our cashmere resources, safeguarding the legitimate economic interests of farmers and herdsmen and the use of cashmere, and maintaining stability in the border areas.

According to the relevant person in the China Fiber Inspection Bureau, the revised goat goat's original cashmere still follows the model of average diameter sizing and hand pull length setting. The three types of ultra-fine, thin, and coarse types in the original standard are used. It has been revised into four types: ultra-fine type, ultra-fine type, fine type, and thick type. The average diameter range corresponding to each model has also been finely and moderately adjusted. This is the need to protect China's superior resources of cashmere, and it is also a strike doping. Adulterated needs.

At the same time, the original standard fiber tests the single-fiber method for breaking strength and elongation, the revised standard uses the bundle fiber testing method, the development of the plush bundle fiber breaking strength tester, and the matching “tensile fiber bundle breaking strength test method. 》The formulation of national standards has been completed, ending the situation where China's plush fiber breaking strength test lasted for nearly 10 years without standards and without equipment support.

According to reports, during the process of revision of this standard, experts from various sectors of the country and participating in the revision of standards have reached a consensus that protecting and developing cashmere resources, especially quality advantages, needs to be based on higher standardization work. Increasing standardization efforts is the key to maintaining and stabilizing China’s cashmere production. Therefore, the validation meeting recommends that all technical contents of the “Cashmere” national standard be mandatory.

At the same time, the international market places high demands on the quality of cashmere. Through the revision of national standards and the introduction of internationally advanced test methods, national standards can be converted into international standards as soon as possible. This amendment has made full preparations for the rise of China’s cashmere national standards to international standards. It is understood that China Fiber Inspection Bureau has strengthened its communication with the International Organization for Standardization and the International Wool Textile Organization.
