Hello everyone!
Last week, S and I had an absolutely delightful trip to Belgium. Traveling with friends always makes the experience so much more enjoyable, and it was fantastic to catch up with Giulia, who used to work with us in New York, along with her husband and their three lively boys. Their home in Brussels is an enchanting old house located right in the heart of the city, and we even managed to explore some nearby gems like Bruges, Ghent, and Antwerp during our stay. S was particularly smitten with Bruges and wouldn’t mind living there one day—though I must admit, I wouldn’t object to that either!

Pinterest Picks:
I’ve been mulling over this idea for our new Gelato pattern. It’s just too cute not to consider! And isn’t this fabric divine? It would be perfect for the project.

I adore this color palette for our Gallery Tunic. Imagine how lovely it would look in linen! Plus, these cropped trousers, sometimes called culottes, could easily be made using our Hollywood Trousers pattern.

For those seeking inspiration or something fun to create, I’m drawn to this adorable bunny cosmetic case. And this tote bag with its literary flair seems like a project worth trying out.

These dresses made me think of our Oliver + S Library Dress pattern. Adding a ruffle to our Field Trip Raglan could yield a similar nautical-inspired ensemble.

Using floral fabric for a dress collar paired with a solid linen body is such a clever idea. Both of these designs could be achieved with our Building Block Dress book.

Weekend Reading:
This article about Taylor Swift’s clothing and the redactions in the Mueller report had me chuckling. It’s always amusing to see how pop culture intersects with serious topics.
Sustainability in fashion has been on my mind lately, especially the debate between leather versus vegan leather. What do you all think about this issue?
A friend recently asked me to design her wedding dress. The thought of it excites me, yet I’m slightly apprehensive about the time commitment. If any of you have experience creating wedding attire, I’d love to hear your thoughts on how long it typically takes.
Vanessa Friedman’s writing never fails to intrigue me, and her recent piece on fibers that attract microbes was no different. It’s fascinating to learn about the science behind what we wear.
Is fashion finally moving toward greater environmental responsibility? It’s a topic that feels increasingly relevant as we strive for more sustainable practices.
In my small corner of the world, I’m already dreaming up plans for my balcony garden. Basil and oregano will definitely be joining forces this year.
Alright, I need to wrap things up. There’s a lot happening right now—testing for a new initiative we’ll announce soon, plus pattern development for next fall’s collection. It’s going to be a busy weekend, but rest assured, there’s plenty more to share next week. Stay tuned for exciting updates and new content here on the blog. Have a fantastic weekend ahead!
