Qingdao's cross-border e-commerce export scale is growing rapidly, and wig exports are the most

August 05, 2021

The Peninsula Metropolis Daily reported on March 11 (Reporter Qiao Xiufeng) The reporter learned from the Municipal Bureau of Commerce that the scale of cross-border e-commerce exports in Qingdao entered a period of rapid growth in 2015. In the first two months of this year, cross-border e-commerce declared export value. Breaking through 5 million US dollars, exceeding the size of last year. Among them, wigs and suits have become the most exported products of cross-border e-commerce in Qingdao.

According to customs statistics, since the joint operation of Qingdao's cross-border trade e-commerce public service platform and customs export supervision system on June 30, 2014, as of the end of February 2015, 28 enterprises across the city have launched cross-border trade e-commerce retail. In the export business, the cumulative export declaration list was 272,000 votes, with a value of 9.843 million US dollars, weighing 97.9 tons.

It is worth noting that since 2015, the city's cross-border e-commerce export scale has entered a stage of rapid growth. Among them, in the month of January this year, the declared export list exceeded 100,000 votes, the value of goods was 3.1 million US dollars, and the cargo weight was 33.2 tons. In the month of February, the export list was 61,000 votes, the value of goods was 2.73 million US dollars, and the cargo weight exceeded 20 tons. In the first two months, the total value of declared exports reached US$5.83 million. The cumulative list of commodity exports, value of goods and weight accounted for 60% of the total scale.

From the perspective of the types of goods exported by cross-border e-commerce, wigs, suits, shoes, shirts and necklaces ranked in the top five. The relevant person in charge of the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce said that wigs and simulation ornaments are particularly suitable for the development of e-commerce in the city's characteristic industries, which have traditional advantages and therefore account for a relatively large proportion. As a traditional export commodity, textile and garment still maintain a good development trend in cross-border e-commerce exports.

From the perspective of cross-border e-commerce exports, the main export areas are concentrated in developed countries such as Europe and the United States. The data shows that as of now, the top five countries in terms of cross-border e-commerce merchandise exports in Qingdao are the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and France. In this regard, the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce believes that the industry with more prominent cross-border e-commerce in this city is more complementary to the developed industries in Europe and the United States. Therefore, the export volume is relatively high. He also said that in the future, Qingdao cross-border e-commerce retail export day, South Korea and Latin America also have great potential.

Reasons for export clearance are becoming more and more convenient

The biggest reason for the rapid growth of cross-border e-commerce exports this year is that cross-border e-commerce in Qingdao has gradually matured and is becoming more and more convenient. In November 2014, the first batch of 29 wigs was successfully declared for export through the cross-border e-commerce customs clearance system of the express mail supervision center, marking the official opening of the express customs clearance mode for Qingdao Customs cross-border trade e-commerce.

Under the traditional supervision mode, goods are generally handled by logistics companies through logistics methods such as commercial express delivery companies. Since there is no customs declaration for customs clearance of personal items in express delivery channels, enterprises cannot collect foreign exchange and collect foreign exchange, and cannot enjoy export tax rebate policy. The new cross-border trade channel of Qingdao Liuting Airport Customs adopts the model of “listing nuclear release and summary declaration”, allowing e-commerce enterprises to declare in accordance with the “list”, and the customs will review the “list” and handle the physical release procedures. The problem of a small number of retail export orders and a large number of batches makes the enterprises more efficient in customs clearance and lower in customs clearance costs. At the same time, the customs clearance system will regularly form a list to form a customs declaration for declaration, and issue a customs declaration tax refund certificate for the enterprise, which solves the problem of enterprise tax refund, and also incorporates cross-border trade e-commerce business into customs trade statistics.

Li Jie, general manager of Qingdao Airlink International Logistics Center, said: "Customs opening cross-border e-commerce customs clearance mode is undoubtedly a major positive news for our warehouse management companies, express delivery companies or e-commerce companies." According to him At present, many home appliance companies including Taobao, Amazon.com and Kyoto Mall have taken the initiative to negotiate with Qingdao and Qingdao Customs and Airlink International Logistics Center to seek cross-border e-commerce commodity centralized supervision. “Opening cross-border e-commerce in the future will give us more opportunities to communicate and cooperate with top e-commerce companies at home and abroad.” Li Jie said.

Export wigs for goods can also be customized

The wig seems to be inconspicuous and the value of the goods is not high, but why does it account for the largest proportion of cross-border e-commerce exports in Qingdao? The reporters found that as early as many years ago, Qingdao's wig exports formed a scale advantage.

Ligezhuang Town, Jiaozhou City has gathered a large number of large and small hair products enterprises. “When I was very young, there was a hair products group in the town. The main product produced at that time was hair products.” Qingdao Double Leaf Hair Products Ye Mingjing, the general manager of the company, said, "This company is a town-run enterprise. After the company was dissolved, many people came out and set up a large and small hair products company. Now there are more than 60 Ligezhuang. Home, there are more in Qingdao."

Ye Mingjing was also one of the entrepreneurs at the time. According to him, before the implementation of the cross-border e-commerce pilot, Qingdao's hair products are also mainly dependent on exports. “100% of our company's hair products are sold abroad. I have to receive several guests every month, all of whom are foreign customers.” Ye Mingjing said, “Foreigners buy wigs just like Chinese people buy clothes. We may be thinking about changing clothes when we attend the dinner, and they will think about changing a wig."

In addition, like clothing, wigs abroad have also begun to be privately ordered, which greatly increased the value of wigs. “Now many customers are not satisfied with the wigs for mass production, and they hope to design their own hair style according to their own head shape. This high-end custom-made hair products are expensive.” Jiaozhou Blonde Hair Products Co., Ltd. Mr. Xu said, “It usually takes about 45 days for a privately-made wig to produce the finished product. Foreign customers usually provide more than a dozen orders at a time, and we all send it together afterwards. It is difficult according to customer requirements. Different degrees of use and use of technology, private custom wigs ranging from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars, tens of thousands of units." Reporter Qiao Xiufeng

Link cross-border import e-commerce will enter the outbreak period

Mo Yanqing, a senior analyst at the China E-Commerce Research Center, said recently that the state has proposed to expand the cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot, and cross-border import e-commerce will be tilted into a concentrated outbreak with policy. Mo Lanqing pointed out that in 2014, driven by the dual engines of “cross-border transactions” and “e-commerce”, cross-border import-type e-commerce began to flourish, and Tmall, Amazon China, Suning, Jumeiyou and so on were crowded. Entering the era of cross-border e-commerce 2.0, the prelude to the brand internationalization strategy. “With the tilt of the policy, cross-border import e-commerce will enter a concentrated outbreak in 2015. Consumers will have more and more demand for Haitao, and cross-border e-commerce will become a new growth point.”

According to data released by the General Administration of Customs, as of the end of 2014, China’s cross-border e-commerce pilot import and export volume has exceeded 3 billion yuan. From July 2013 to December 2014, Shanghai, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Zhengzhou, Guangzhou and Shenzhen successively launched cross-border e-commerce import business, with a total of 4.11 million pieces of parcels, worth about 1.01 billion yuan.

Zhang Zhouping, a senior analyst at the China E-Commerce Research Center, also said that the country has repeatedly proposed favorable policies for cross-border e-commerce since 2013, and through the pilot test of pilot cities, to solve the bottleneck restricting the development of cross-border trade e-commerce. The problem lays the foundation for the rapid development of cross-border trade e-commerce in the future. Xinhua
